We had so much fun when Aunt Cortney, Grandma and our surprise visitor Aunt Lindsay cane to visit that I thought it would be the subject for the speed scraps that I participated in today. One was after bedtime and the other during Luke's nap, so it was fun. I've never done them before, but I really liked the direction, and am pretty pleased with the pages that came from them.

Friends

Kit: Blooming Friendship by JadyDay Studio
We spent last weekend going to Grants Farm while the English family was in town. It was a blast to have them come to visit us, even though we were packed in our little home like sardines. It was good to do this while we still have semi-small families, as they are only growing. We have had a blast with our visitors lately. The English's came last weekend, and the weekend before that Grandma, Aunt Corn, and Aunt Lindsay came for a visit. We had a blast going to the zoo and running around town. Don't worry, that page is in the works. As I said, I've been in the mood to do blocking, but I will do something else now. I love the clean lines though. Enjoy!

Blocking

Here is another page done with Sarah Bennett "Feels Like Home" kit. This was done for a word up challenge at Scrap Matters. You have one of the focal points be a picture with words in it. That was different for me, but thankfully I took a picture of this quote that I loved while walking along the trails at the botanical gardens. It's part of a two page spread, but the other side isn't quite finished yet, so I will post that later. Lately, I have been totally loving the look of blocking pictures. I know it's a bit the same, but I love clean lines, and sometimes it's hard for me to move things around and have different angles and such. Thinking "outside the box" is hard for my I guess. Something to work on I suppose. Til then, thank goodness for awesome templates. Speaking of...Li the magnificent has a set of templates that are really cute on her blog! You can download them from her blog here. Enjoy them and don't forget to leave some love for her if you download them!

Two Challenges

This first page was for a Tuesday template Challenge at ScrapMatters. It was fun looking back to see how much Kate has changed in the past almost year and a half. She's so huge now.

This page was for the Grand Theft Layout, inspired by Li's Mr. Potato Head. It's not light and airy, which is one of the things I loved about Li's page, but it turned out okay. It was hard to come figure out something to do, because all of Li's work is awesome! This was the only picture that I took of Kate's potty-ing days. I was too busy cleaning up pee to document things too in depth, but I love the way it turned out.

Sweetness

So in doing this page from last Valentines Day, I got to see how much Kate has changed in little over a year. Yesterday, I asked her if she wanted to have eggs or yogurt for breakfast. She said, "Just Juice". I didn't really respond, but usually can get around her answers if I give her something completely different. So I started to whip up some oatmeal. She saw me and said, "What are you doing?" and I told her, "I am making you some oatmeal for breakfast." She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Juusst Juuicce" like I was slow and didn't understand her the first time. It was all I could do not to die laughing, but I kept it in pretty good, not wanting to make her think it was cool to treat mom like the rainman. Oh, to be back to sweeter more innocent days. My Mom says it's not going to get any better. This was done with the Welcome Home Kit and Alpha by Erica Zane.

Magic House

So, when we went to the Magic House with Rainee and Family, there was no way that I could post all the awesome pictures that we took, so here is the page that I did with them. The kit is Adventures in Reading, but Plum Dumpling Designs, and this template is by Just 2 More Things, that was introduced to me by the awesome Li! Now that I am know how to do it easier, i'll be doing double pages more often. I am just a picture-a-holic. I take too many at every occasion. Guess that just means I am addictied to my kids.

Wire and Tag: Happy to Be

I loved this picture too much not to do a page for is as soon as possible. Love these guys. I also loved using Maria's new photo masks, and figuring out how they worked. It was fun doing something different!
